Lecture 1. The Art of Music. Looking at the amazing diversity of images inspired by, or portraying Music-making throughout history. Includes Vermeer, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Watteau, Early Italian Angels, singers from Ancient Greece, via Van Eyck, to Balla, Severini and the Futurists to the ever-popular Jack Vettriano.

Lecture 2. The Art of Dance. A catalogue of frozen motion, from the Muses in Mosaic, and the Maenads(Bachantes) in plaster, marble and Salon Art, to the sea-change that was the Royal Ballet, Ballet Rambert and the Ballets Russes, and the dynamism of Loie Fuller, Josephine Baker, Martha Graham, Michael Clark and Pina Bausch..

Lecture 3. The Art of the Record Sleeve (including, of course, cassettes,CDs etc. but concentrating on when the images were big enough to see).
